Amazon Prime Original Hunters is Coming Back for Season 2

The competition to release top-class content has been cut-throat between online video streaming giants for the past couple of years. Platforms such as Amazon Prime and Netflix have produced some noteworthy television series and movies to entertain its target audience. However, there have only been a few that have struck a chord with the audience. One such example is Amazon Prime Original Hunters. The first season was quite popular, which might be one of the reasons why the show is returning for season 2.

A Lot Is Expected From Hunters Season 2

The audience will be expecting a lot from the American web television drama series’ second season. So, here is some information on the storyline, release date of Hunters season 2. One of the main reasons this show has gained a lot of popularity is its stellar star cast and a real-life story and historical events. However, the web television series has been dramatized a little bit. Season one’s final episode consisted of significant twists and turns. One such instance involved a sense of betrayal, and the other cemented the identity or life/death status of the villain. The ending speaks for itself as it sets up a platform for season 2 on Amazon Prime.

If we go by the reviews of critics and online websites such as Rotten Tomatoes, we might see the show go on for a couple of seasons.

No Confirmation on the Release Date of Hunters Season 2

According to reports, there is no confirmation on the official release date of Hunters Season 2. The show shut down production due to the coronavirus pandemic to ensure the safety of both cast and crew. Once the situation normalizes and is safe for everyone to step out, the makers might restart production, and we might see a premiere somewhere in 2021.

The first season had only ten episodes, but there is no clarity on how many episodes the makers are planning to make for the upcoming season.

A Storyline Full of Twists and Turns

The season 1 finale showcased that Jonah Heidelbaum (Logan Lerman) proved his worth to Meyer Offerman (Al Pacino), the Hunters’ leader. Heidelbaum does this by locating the Nazi Doctor Wilhelm Zuchs (Christian Oliver), also known as “The Wolf.” Oliver’s villainous character tormented both Meyer and Jonah’s grandmother Ruth Heidelbaum (Jeannie Berlin).

One of the biggest revelations in season 1 is that Al Pacino reveals his true identity as The Ghost. This means that he donned the real Meyer identity after being captured by the people of the Soviet Union in World War ll. Before Jonah realizes who The Wolf is. Then he starts to unlock clues left behind by his grandmother to track down the Nazi doctor. He traces his steps to a plastic surgeon living in New York City. After Jonah takes the doctor to “Meyer Offerman,” Al Pacino kills the doctor quickly without interrogating him. Offerman does not even say a prayer, the last ritual that the hunters follow before every murder.

Jonah Figures Out the Identity of the Wolf

Jonah starts recalling things such as how Offerman did not remember specific stories even though he had survived the holocaust with his grandmother Ruth. This brings Jonah to the conclusion that Meyer Offerman is the real Wolf, a Nazi who tortured his grandmother. He realizes that his grandmother’s clues did not point him in the direction of the plastic surgeon but towards the fact that the Wolf had gone to the surgeon for a procedure.

Before killing Meyer Offerman, the Nazi tells Jonah that forming the Hunters and killing his kind was a way of trying to redeem himself of all the bad things he had done in life. This confession does not play in Offerman’s favor, and Jonah kills him and says that the man did not have the right to take the life of other Nazis because of his identity.

Hunter: A Show Inspired by Real-Life Stories The Hunters is an American drama web series created by David Weil. The plot is set in the year 1977, New York City. This show draws its inspiration from real-life people who hunted Nazis. However, it loosely revolves around that premise but does not specify one single person or incident.
