NCIS: The Much-Anticipated Season 18 and the Record-Breaking Episode 400

NCIS is a long-running police procedural show that recounts the story of a team of special agents. The season 1 of the show was released in 2003, and it has been around since then. It has become a household name in its 17 year-long run, and it seems that it is going to be around for quite a long time. Its most outstanding achievement is the fact that it has been able to hold its own in the rapidly changing entertainment industry. This makes the show one of a kind and sets an example for others that shows can still be relevant decades after its release. There have been 17 seasons so far and the production of the 18th season is underway.

The creators are putting their blood and sweat in the upcoming season, and there are rumors that the show might return as early as November. However, the present-day healthcare crisis can cause some delay which has become the new norm now. When the show returns, the fans will be waiting to know about the probable resolution of several storylines and to confirm various rumors that are floating around on the internet. There is no doubt that this season is also going to be as successful as the previous 17 since everyone is looking for an escape and NCIS fans are no different. Most movies and shows released in the last few months have done much better than expected since people are staying indoors with nothing else to do.

The upcoming season is even more special as the fans are waiting for the show to reach an important milestone. NCIS is very close to its 400th episode and even though many reality or variety shows have achieved this milestone but it is extremely rare for a scripted program. This achievement makes NCIS stand apart from its contemporaries since almost no other program is able to be around for this long.  If the show is running for a few more seasons, it might probably end up becoming the most-watched scripted live-action program of all time. The season 17 of the show had ended abruptly earlier this year and if the reports are to be believed the show won’t be continuing the previous storyline.

However, NCIS is going to follow up on the ramifications of the previous season as it will explore into the sudden introspective and emotional turnaround in Gibbs’s demeanor. It is now known that the opening episodes of season 18 will look into what happened to Gibbs when he went off the grid in last season’s episode 8. So, it is quite evident that there will be more focus on his past, in the upcoming season. There are also reports that we might see new characters on the show and even though they might play very small roles, it will be interesting to see new faces. Hopefully, the NCIS will release in November as expected without delays and fans can finally see their favorite characters back on screen.
