Developed by Witchcraft, Digimon Survive is a role-playing strategy game. Already delayed once in 2019, Bandai Namco has recently come out to announce that the much-anticipated game is delayed once again. The decision has been taken in light of the present healthcare crisis caused by the virus. In their official statement that was released recently, they thanked their fans for the continued support that they have been getting in tough times. They also made it clear that although the decision was tough for them, they had to take the present situations into consideration and delay the release for next year.
Now, people who were expecting the game will be released soon will wonder when they can expect the release next year. The producer of Digimon Survive, Kazumasa Habu, said that he expects the release of the game around the spring of 2021. So, the fans have one long year of a wait ahead of them to release the much-anticipated game.
However, there were already signs that the game was going to be delayed further even before the official statements were released. The producer of the game, Habu, replying to one of the fans on Twitter about the release of the game had said that they were trying their best to refocus the schedule for the game and also reviewing the development team. He said that he will discuss the matter with the concerned teams and make an announcement soon.
The upcoming game is all set to join the well-known multimedia franchise Digimon. Featuring several gameplay styles, Digimon Survive is a role-playing strategy game that comes with a ton of unique features over the previous games and a branching story. Developed by Witchcraft, the game will be available for Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Announced back in July 2019, Digimon Survive was set for release in 2019 before the first delay was announced. The game has had more than one delay now, and the release date has been officially pushed back to 2021, which has been quite disappointing for the fans.
Although the reasons are understandable, the late release is going to cost Bandai Namco. It remains to be seen if they can get the work done by 2021 because their fans are running out of patience. If they fail this time, the company will lose all credibility, and the Digimon franchise will have a lot to reconsider.
