Boss recommended Kate to ask the task head of the Department of Justice and Department of Defense officers Matt Graver and Alejandro Gillick to apprehend lieutenant Manuel Diaz.

The first movie came in 2015 and the second film was released in 2018, Sicario: Day of the Soldado. It is the sequel of the 2015 film written by Taylor Sheridan and directed by Stefano Sollima. It featured Raoul Trujillo, Jeffrey Donovan, Josh Brolin, Benicio del Toro are some actors from the original cast, and some new actors joined including Isabela Moner, Catherine Keener, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. The plot of the sequel follows, a terrorist suicide bombing in Kansas City which kills fifteen people. The CIA officer Matt Graver gets orders from the United States government, and he applies charges on Mexican drug cartels suspected to smuggle the terrorists across the Mexico-U.S. border. After two years the team announced the third project of the franchise. Although the title of the movie is not yet decided. And the previous film of the franchise, the third part also is based on the drugs dealing at the US war and the Mexican border. The first film depicts the real face of the US government and the Mexican drug cartels. Alarcon is the antagonist of the drug cartel for the movie. In this movie, the young FBI, Kate Macer is deployed in the project and partnered with Reggie. The character is the employee of morally proper law enforcement, and she wishes to finish the assigned task with discipline and to stand on the higher ethical ground. But her plans and expectations are shattered when she faces the reality of the horrors with her own eyes. She understands that there are no moral grounds in the war, and both the parties can go down to any length and do anything to win the battle.

The chronology of the second installment revolves and starts with the same team. But the character of Kate Macer was not there; the film features the dynamic duo of Alejandro Gillick and Matt Graver. In the story, Gillick is a hitman, has his interests against the cartel, and on the side of the US Government. The government wants to get supreme control over the trade of drugs. It decides to wage wars among cartel gangs to end the rivalry. Gillick kidnaps the daughter of the owner of the gang and plans to leave her in the compound rival gang. But he emotionally connects with the girl and instead protects her. He also gets himself shot while protecting her. Graver decides to put the girl under the Witness Protection Program to make sure she is safe. And at the end of it, Gillick is alive and confronts his former master Miguel. The scene ends with a cliffhanger which signifies that there will be a third part of the franchise. Fans are requesting to bring back the character of Kate Macer, but the team has not made any official announcement yet, so we hope they are thinking of getting her back.

The production of the upcoming movie Sicario 3 is under process, and if the team listens to the fan’s expectation towards the film, they might plan to release the project in 2021 or 2022. As audiences want to watch Kate Macer in the upcoming installment, the cast might include Emily Blunt for the same role, Benicio del Toro for the role of Alejandro Gillick, and Josh Brolin for Matt Graver. However, the production has not shared any official details regarding the third sequel.
