A lot of people prefer using a table clock along the bedside to keep checking if they have more time to sleep before running to office. A few years back, the Insignia Google Assistant speaker became one of the popular alarm clocks that used the voice assistant tech. However, it’s no more trending, or in simpler words, the idea has become boring.
Lenovo introduced a Smart Clock Essential during the fall, which inclined many people towards the device. It stood out from all other devices and became one popular smart clock perfect for any home.
Do you want to know more about the quality and the features that the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential possess? Read along to know more!
The Essential clock is way better and comfortable to read when compared to the original Lenovo Smart Clock. If you’re trying to keep track of the time, but the clock is placed a little far, it is still trouble-free to take a note of the time and temperature. The clock features additional weather condition LED icons that are a bit difficult to detect if you’re even three-feet away.
The clock features four physical buttons on its top: volume up, volume down, alarm, and play/pause. You must have noticed that to bring up or activate the Google Voice Assistant feature, you’re required to long-press the button on the device. However, it’s not the case with the Essential clock. To bring up Google Assistant, you’ll have to say ‘Ok Google.’
Additionally, the clock also has a mute mic button present on its back, between the USB-A port and the power cord. Not only this, but it also comes with a nightlight, for which you can set the brightness level between zero and a hundred.
The alarm button of the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential enables you to view the next two scheduled alarms. The buttons can also be used to set the alarm if you don’t want to miss the right time to wake up early in the morning. If you want, you can schedule alarms to repeat on particular days, weekdays, etc. The alarm will play the default chime sound on its scheduled time.
Many people prefer turning the lights completely off to avoid getting disturbed. If you own a Lenovo Essential clock, you must have noticed that the clock refuses to turn off; however, it’s dim. So, if you prefer complete darkness, the light coming out of the clock can seem a bit annoying.
One of the biggest competitions of the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential is the original Lenovo Smart Clock. The Lenovo Smart Watch features a small screen with a colorful display, but the nightlight is absent. Also, the price has dropped to $40 at Best Buy.
On the other hand, another big competition is the Echo Dot with Clock, which is available for $60. Though the clock is a little more costly, it offers you color options, a richer sound, and supports Alexa in place of the Google Assistant.
No device provides complete perfection. However, good sound quality and the voice assistant feature is a pretty good deal in the $30-$50 price range, depending upon the Black Friday deals.
