OnePlus 8 & OnePlus 8 Pro
As already mentioned, there’s always some extra features which you get with the Pro devices. Be it OnePlus or any other company handset which launches the Standard and Pro version of the same device. Here we have almost all the similarities along with differences between these two handsets. Even though we have pinned out the differences but we assure you that both the handsets are the best ones till date in the market by OnePlus. Both the devices have brilliant AMOLED screens having a sharp and crystal-clear display with bright colors and contrast that will help in providing a rich on-screen experience to the users while they are using any of the two devices.
There is a slight variation in the Pro model in terms of display and resolution as it has a bit faster refresh rate than the standard one. You can see a minor difference in display screens, but that is almost negligible. But, OnePlus 8 Pro is dust and water-resistant and has a rating of IP68 compared to OnePlus 8, which surely lacks these two features. Rest, both the handsets have an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is pretty fast and impressive.
Both the devices have similar high-speed Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor, which lets the device perform heavy tasks efficiently and with speed and ease. Both the devices have 8GB and 12GB RAM variants along with 128GB and 256GB of storage accordingly. Users may opt for a pair of either 8GB RAM along with 128GB storage or 12GB RAM along with 256GB storage for both the devices. Both the devices have similar specifications in terms of processor, and RAM & Storage availability options. However, you can see some variations in the following specifications which are related to camera and battery capacity.
You won’t be able to figure out the differences between these two handsets by their screen size, display or processing speed. But when you have an in-hand camera experience of both the devices, you may be able to figure out the differences in terms of camera specifications. You can see the same camera features of the front camera on both the devices. Both the devices offer punch hole cameras of 16 megapixels at the front. But, vast differences will become visible to you when you compare the back cameras setups of both the devices. OnePlus 8 offers a triple camera setup of 48-megapixel, 16-megapixel, and 2 megapixels. While the OnePlus 8 Pro provides a quad-camera set up of 48-megapixel, 8-megapixel, 48-megapixel and 5 megapixels.
Even though both the devices offer a primary camera of 48 MP which is excellent in terms of resolution and image clarity, the OnePlus 8 Pro uses an IMX689 Sony sensor which is a new one compared to the sensor in OnePlus 8 which is an IMX586 Sony sensor. Also, the 48-megapixel primary camera of OnePlus 8 Pro has some serious features that, when compared, makes it different from the camera on OnePlus 8. It has an ultra-wide resolution sensor and provides a 3x hybrid zoom facility which can produce more sharp images while compared to pictures clicked with OnePlus 8. It also includes a color filter camera, which can be used to add filters to your images in real-time.
Both devices have the latest Android version. But regarding the battery, you may see a slight variation in battery capacity of both the handsets. The OnePlus 8 offers a battery capacity of 4300mAh which is slightly less when compared to the 4510mAh battery of OnePlus 8 Pro.
