Delete System Mechanic Files
Follow these steps:
  1. Launch the File Explorer and go to “C:\ProgramData\iolo.”
  2. This directory is hidden by default, so you need to display it.
  3. When you enter the directory, locate “Status.xml” and “Smgthints.xml” files to delete them.
  4. According to several users, the message, “List index out of bounds” appears on the device when you run System Mechanic.
  5. This error is caused due to specific System Mechanic files being corrupted. To fix the issue, you have to find and delete those files from your computer.
Delete Temporary Files
Follow these steps:
  1. Open the Run command prompt as “Admin.”
  2. In the Run search tab, type “%temp%” and tap “Enter” or click “OK.”
